Bridal Shower Ideas

Bri-dull Showers
Turn your dull wedding shower into a real party with some new and different ideas! Below are just a few gift and game ideas to get the party going. Enjoy!

Naughty & Nice Shower
What is a Naughty & Nice Shower? It’s a shower where guests bring one "naughty" gift for the Bride and Groom's honeymoon, and one "nice" gift. Collect all the naughty gifts in a black satin pillow case and tie with four long red ribbons for the couple's honeymoon night. Then play one naughty game and one nice game:

Dirty Game: Wear the Teddy
Put a teddy bear in a brown paper bag and tell the guests whoever gets stuck holding the bag in a game of hot potato has to wear the teddy! Don't tell your guests it's a teddy bear - they'll be terrified thinking it's a silky lingerie teddy!

Nice Game: Toilet Paper Wedding Dress
Divide the guests into two or more teams of at least three people each. The teams are given rolls of toilet paper, and each team chooses a "bride." Give the teams 20 minutes to create a wedding dress on their "bride" using the toilet paper. At the end of the allotted time, vote for the best wedding dress and the funniest, and give prizes to the winners.

Couples Stock the Bar Shower
Invite the guys because they'll want to be included! Have guests bring a bottle of wine to share, and a gift to help stock the couple's bar. Provide cheese plates and snacks, and spend a nice night with friends and family. No games necessary!

Makeover Shower
Small showers don't have to be boring! There are so many more things you can do at a small shower, like having makeovers for all the guests! Invite a Mary Kay or Avon consultant to do the makeovers and have a fun day of relaxing beauty and pampering!

Game: You Melt My Heart
Freeze little candy hearts in ice-cubes before the party. To play, give each guest one of the ice-cubes in a little cup and tell them they can try to melt the ice cube using any body part, but they can't take the ice-cube out of the cup. First one to melt completely, wins.

Kitchen Shower
This shower is all about good food and friends! Host a potluck dinner where every guest brings their favorite dish. Guests will also bring a recipe card for the dish to start off the new couple’s recipe collection. Gifts should all focus on the kitchen, and these crowd-pleaser games will fit right in! Give prizes to the winners, and let the guests personalize aprons as a favor.

Game: Name That White Stuff
Put 10 different white substances in Ziploc bags, like flour, powdered milk, and baking soda. Be sure to number the bags so you can keep track of the right answers.
Game: Herb Sniffing

Put 10 different herbs in individual numbered cups, cover with foil, and put several small holes in the foil. Guests take turns sniffing the herbs to guess which herb is in which cup.

Summer Themes

Life’s a Beach…

Summer is the perfect time for beach-lovers to express themselves with a tropical theme. Celebrate your spring or summer wedding with a Luau or beach theme! These themes are great for receptions and rehearsal dinners alike. Hawaiian Luau

  • Use the colors of hibiscus: Bright pink, yellow and orange, with accents of deep green

  • Surround your guests with tiki torches

  • Place hibiscus trees at focus points (bar, cakes, guest book)

  • Decorate buffet tables with tropical flowers and baskets of tropical fruit

  • Use palm branches and brightly colored rose petals as accents

  • Centerpieces of hibiscus, ginger, orchids, and birds of paradise

  • Table-top tiki torches give the table a nice glow

  • A starry night projected onto the ceiling

  • Greet each guest with a fresh or silk flower Lei

  • For escort cards, split coconuts, fill them with a tropical drink (like a mai tai or pina colada), and install a small flag with the guest’s name and table number.

  • Instead of typical tables, create low tables (folded tables supported by cinderblocks) and provide cushions for guest seating

  • Cover the table-top in green Ti leaves

  • Use raffia or grass skirts in lieu of table skirts

  • Hire a fire juggler for guest arrival or an outside event

  • Modern Hawaiian band and a wandering ukulele performer

  • Hula dancers performing and giving lessons

  • Dance floor with limbo and hula competitions

  • Decorate the bride’s cake with orchids and other tropical flowers

  • Top the groom’s cake with male and female dashboard hula dancers

Key Largo

  • Colors – Turquoise and nautical blues

  • Table cards attached to sand dollars, starfish, and large seashells are spread across a table, nestled in a bed of sand, surrounded by votives and tropical flowers

  • Guests can help themselves to drinks at the tiki-themed bar

  • Centerpieces: large fish bowls half-filled with sand, seashells, and turquoise beads, with a large pillar candle in the center. Surround the base with a string of large artificial pearls.

  • Decorate buffet tables with tall cylindrical vases. Inside, create a base of turquoise beads, and place a waterproof LED light. Fill with water and place a floating candle or a blue floral arrangement.

  • White tablecloths with teal napkins and chair covers

  • Across the center of the table, sprinkle a swirl of colored sand to match the theme

  • Guests arrive to songs by the Beach Boys

  • Shrimp and oyster station nestled in a large ice sculpture clam

  • Light blue wedding cake studded with white and cream sugar seashells. At the base of each layer sits a string of frosting pearls

  • “Gone Fishing” cake topper
