Great Day Houston
Dear friends,Great Day Houston—the morning talk show hosted by Deborah Duncan—has a show opening for a wedding NEXT WEEK. If you know of a couple that is anxious to tie the knot or perhaps has venue issues due to Hurricane Ike, Great Day Houston will host their entire wedding (catering, flowers, cakes, décor, etc.) on the show. It’s a one-hour air time and the couple would be married on television. Just let me know if you are interested - haley@envogueevents.com

Hurricane Ike
We had a wedding planned last weekend for a very sweet couple. Due to Ike the wedding was cancelled. So we are now re-adjusting their wedding plans and date.
On Thursday evening, the fiance turned to his almost-wife and asked her if she wanted to wake up married on Sunday, or post-pone everything.
They decided that the whole point was to start their life together, so they did a quick ceremony at Prince of Peace on Friday morning before the storm came.
Now they are enjoying their honeymoon, as a married couple. Upon their return we will be doing a 're-enactment' of the ceremony and then having the big blow-out reception.
Even in times of crises it is important to remember that family and love is very important.
We all hope everyone is well, and while waiting for power still, that you are with friends and family.

French Twist on Tradition
This past weekend we learned a great French Tradition.
We placed note cards and envelopes at every table. The guests were instructed to write marriage advice, their best wishes and thoughts of the day. After the toasts the cards were all gathered and sealed inside a box with a bottle of champagne.
The instructions for the bride and groom are to either wait until their Seventh year of marriage (seven year itch!) or after their first BIG fight, then they can break the seal and read all of the cards to remind them of their wedding day.
